Homework

Two students came in this morning and told me they couldn't do the TFK article review because they didn't have the handout. It is unfortunate that they did not receive the handout; I do make every effort to make sure everyone receives copies of worksheets when necessary. Mistakes happen, though.

We did have a quick discussion this morning about homework. If you don't have the handout do you just not do the work? It depends. If it's a math handout, it would be hard since you don't have the problems in front of you. But when it's an article summary that been done in the past...it's the perfect time to do some problem solving at home. Using any type of lined paper to do the writing would be the perfect way to still complete the homework assignment.

If this happens at home, remind your child to problem solve. "Is there any way that you can still complete this assignment?"

These type of on-the-spot situations are the way we can teach our children life-long problem solving skills.

Have a great weekend!
